Are you sick of paying high energy bills during the hot summer months?
Compared to many other places, we have it pretty good in Denver as far as the heat is concerned. With relatively low humidity, the heat isn’t quite as overwhelming here as it is in other cities or states, but that doesn’t mean that we don’t have any heat to deal with! Regardless of how much hotter it is elsewhere, it is hot enough here, and many people end up paying more on their energy bills while trying to stay cool. Check out our HVAC service experts last blog to learn a few tips to save money while staying cool, and keep reading to learn more:
#4. Take advantage of your ceiling fan.
While a ceiling fan alone probably won’t be enough, it can help to make your air conditioner more effective. The use of a ceiling fan makes it possible to turn your thermostat up a few degrees, but fans don’t actually make the air cooler, they just make people cooler, so don’t leave yours on when you aren’t there to benefit from it.
#5. Upgrade your thermostat to one that is programmable.
Unless you are awake at home 24 hours a day, seven days a week, your thermostat does not need to be on the same level all the time. With a programmable thermostat, you can automatically raise the temperature in your home while you are at work or asleep and lower it when you get home. This can lead to big savings!
#6. Keep vents clean and unobstructed.
In order for your vents to work effectively, they need to be clean and unobstructed. If there is furniture or anything else blocking your vents, move it! It is also important to make sure that your vents are open.
